Boilermakers National Recognition Award

The Boilermakers National Apprenticeship Board established the Recognition Award in April 1988. The Award is in honor of those who have given unselfishly of their time and knowledge in order that the skills of the Boilermaker Craft can be passed on to future generations by means of the oldest known learning process, that of serving an Apprenticeship.

The person receiving the award must have been nominated by a person in the Boilermaker Industry such as a company representative that employs the boilermaker craft on their projects.  Any person from the Boilermaker Craft (apprentice, journey person, representative) may nominate a person for the award. The person or persons nominating an individual must submit the name of the individual along with a written statement as to why the nominee should receive the Recognition Award.  The person or persons nominating the individual then send the name and statement to the area coordinator.  The coordinator then submits the names to the area’s full apprenticeship committee for election of one person.  The individual receiving the most votes from each area is then submitted to the National Apprenticeship Board for the final selection.

Each area can submit only one name to the National Apprenticeship Board.
