Boilermakers Field Construction/Repair Apprenticeship

Now that you have arrived at this page we believe that you are interested in becoming a Boilermaker Apprentice or you know someone who may be interested in becoming a Boilermaker Apprentice. If so, then the following basic qualifications must be met:

Basic Qualifications

Applicants shall meet the following minimum qualifications:

1. Age — All applicants shall be at least 18 years of age. Applicants are required to submit reliable proof of age. (Please make copy of birth certificate so committee can file it with your application.)

2. Education — Applicants shall be high school graduates or provide proof of equivalent education attainment, such as successful completion of GED. Each applicant shall submit a copy of their high school transcript or official report of GED test results if these documents will verify graduation. (Please make copy of high school diploma/GED so committee can file it with your application.)

Applicants to enter this program will be selected first on the basis of welding qualifications, and then on the basis of random selection, as set forth in the approved standards and selection procedures of the National Joint Apprenticeship Committee for the trade. The recruitment, selection, employment and training of apprentices during their apprenticeship, shall be without discrimination because of race, color, religion, national origin, or sex. Every applicant must supply a copy of his or her BIRTH CERTIFICATE and HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA/G.E.D. that the Committee can keep at the time of filing application for apprenticeship.

Welding Qualification: Applicants that have a welding certification or weld training qualifications will have priority selection over applicants with no welding qualifications. Applicants must provide a copy and proof of welding certification or weld training certification at time of filing.
