Instructor Training Held in the Western States
Instructor Training was held in the Western States from December 6 - 8, 2016 in Phoenix, AZ. 16 instructors from eight locals in the Western States participated. Also in attendance were Regional Apprentice Coordinators Collin Keisling of the Western States, Larry McManamon Jr. of the Great Lakes, and Jason Dupuis and Stephen Murphy of the Northeast. The class was taught by Mark Wertz of the BNAP.
The instructors first received in depth training on the Learning Management System (LMS) from Ken Rogers of The Kelly Companies. Every instructor learned to log on, run reports, and navigate the system. The training covered various topics, including reviews of the National and Regional Apprenticeship Rules and Regulations, shop setup, safety, public speaking, EPRI and NMAP. Instructors also received multiple teaching resources, and tips on how to teach classes effectively.
The next Instructor Training is scheduled in the Great Lakes Region for January 2017.
