2017 Brings Changes to the BNAP

January 3, 2017

2017 has brought many changes to the Boilermakers National Apprentice Program.  National Coordinator Marty Spencer (pictured left) has retired after a 40-year long career as a Boilermaker.  Lead National Instructor John Standish (pictured right), who started back in the 1980s, has also retired.  Both Marty and John have been tremendous assets to the BNAP and have brought great progress to the program, including developing training and implementing the Learning Management System (LMS).  Their knowledge and experience will be missed.  Thank you both for your hard work and dedication to the BNAP.

Mark Wertz is the new National Coordinator for the BNAP, and will continue the work laid out by both Marty and John.

Upcoming BNAP events include:

  • Instructor Training – Great Lakes Area

  • Instructor Training – Northeast Area

  • Continued EPRI Evaluator and Industrial Rigging Certification - nationwide

  • BNAP Apprentice of the Year Competition – Boilermakers Local 101, Denver, CO

We are excited for what the new year has to offer, and look forward to the continuing the longstanding tradition of training the most highly skilled apprentices the trades has to offer.
