The BNAP conducted its second STE Evaluator Training at Boilermakers Local 28 – New Jersey from February 6 – 8, 2017. 15 Boilermakers from the across the country participated. The training was led by BNAP National Coordinator Mark Wertz and Southeast Area Apprentice Director Eric Olson. Also in attendance were Northeast Apprentice Administrator Jason Dupuis and Apprentice Coordinator Stephen Murphy.
The STE Evaluator Training consists of a 120-question written test and a hands-on rigging exercise, which if successfully completed, qualifies all participants as STE Industrial Riggers and Signalers. Participants must also complete a Train-the-Trainer course. After successfully completing all the requirements, participants can administer the Industrial Rigging and Signaling written and practical tests to Boilermakers throughout the United States.
